Halitosis, or bad breath, is a condition in which realizes very often.
To develop a plan for effective treatment, it is necessary to establish a diagnosis that will depend on the interpretation of the data collected in the history of the patient, clinical examination and the results obtained through the methods of diagnosis (qualitative or quantitative) employees by the dentist. As yet, there is a unique product to combat halitosis. The effectiveness in the short and long term of most products for the treatment of bad breath has not been clearly established. Recent advances in understanding the etiology of halitosis have allowed the development of new techniques for evaluation and management. Although halitosis is one of the most common medical conditions, generally, dentists and physicians are poorly informed about the methods for diagnosis and treatment. The tardiness of the dental community to recognize the importance of studying the halitosis is due, perhaps, to the social impact appeared greater than the impact doctor.
