Diseases of the mouth: canker sores, candidacies, herpes
The diseases of the mouth are very numerous and their causes are multiple. Those who reach the lining of the mouth (gums and membranes that line the mouth at the lips, cheeks, tongue …) are diseases whose emergence and development are conditioned by the presence of local factors and general.
Local factors
Often dental origin, they are mainly responsible gingivitis (see gingivitis and periodontitis). They are:
- Poor oral hygiene;
- Tartar;
- Prosthesis (crowns, removable machine …) and dental restorations (amalgam and / or composite old or overflowing) inadequate.
But other factors may be responsible:
- Mouth breathing;
- Intolerance of certain materials;
- Tobacco.
The general factors
They are also responsible for some gingivitis and / or periodontitis but especially stomatitis such as canker sores, herpes, chicken pox, thrush.
They are:
- Infections (viral, bacterial, candidacies);
- Taking certain medications (antibiotics);
- Of malnutrition (vitamin B, K, C);
- Physiological changes of the general statement (the premenstrual period, pregnancy, puberty).
